On Jan 1, most major insurance companies reset their deductibles, which means patients need to plan ahead to cover co-pays for durable medical goods and other health related bills. It can be an overwhelming and incredibly stressful time, as the bills seem to stack up during this time of the year.

If you are in need of ostomy supplies, please contact your local hospital and ask if they maintain a donation closet. If they do not have free supplies available, ask if any local organizations exist that can assist you with obtaining supplies for free or at a reduced cost. It’s also worth contacting ostomy brands like hollister, as they provide free samples of new products and are also connected to national organizations that may be able to help.
