EverGreen Launches Fly Fishing Program

Bozeman, MT - EverGreen Adventures, in conjunction with outfitter Slade’s Montana Fly Fishing, launched a new program, “casting for connections.” The program aims to provide tailored fly fishing excursions for people and caregivers impacted by chronic illnesses.

“Spending time on the picturesque waters of Montana has afforded our family the opportunity to connect and recharge. While it does not cure my health challenges, fishing does offer a reprieve from the daily grind of chronic disease management,” said Jonathan Stewart, EverGreen Adventures co-founder and Executive Director.

The program includes opportunities to learn the basics of fly fishing and also book tailored wade and float trips at a number of Bozeman area locations. EverGreen also maintains a gear loan program, which includes a limited supply of bear spray, fly fishing, camping and hiking equipment. Gear is always free to borrow and open to locals and visitors.

“We are grateful to Slade and Danielle of Slade’s Montana Fly Fishing for supporting our effort to reduce the barriers of entry to fly fishing. Their contributions to the fishing industry and community are remarkable, and this program would not be possible without them,” added Stewart.

A corporate donation from Ciao Bambino Travel Advisors enabled EverGreen to finalize and ultimately launch the program.

“The generosity and support of Ciao Bambino was the key to initially funding the program. Helping families travel the world, they know full well the beauty and elegance Montana has to offer. We are grateful to create these opportunities with their support,” concluded Stewart.
